MONCTON, N.B. - The Moncton Wildcats scored on five of their eight power plays and whipped the Charlottetown Islanders 6-2 on Sunday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play. Conor Garland opened the scoring with Monctons only even-strength goal of the game. Christophe Lalonde and JC Campagna, with the first of his two goals, made it 3-0 by 7:23 of the first period. Mark Simpson added to the lead in the second, before Alexandre Goulet got Charlottetown on the scoreboard. Ivan Barbshev made it 5-1, and in the third period, Jack Nevins got one for the Islanders, before Lalonde closed out the scoring. Alex Dubeau made 34 saves for Moncton (9-12-1). Islanders (10-7-2) goalie Antoine Bibeau was lifted after allowing his third goal on five shots.
